A mother's plea

Dear October,
Enough already, I am so sick of this 95 degree weather.   Where are your cool days and cooler nights?  I hate, hate, hate the heat and this is really getitng old fast.  I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.  So suck it up and let the cold in.  I want to wear jeans and long sleeves, sweatshirts and socks.  I want a fire in my fireplace, hot chocolate in my hand and a blanket in my lap.  Maybe I was made for somewhere with real winters, who knows.   But when I'm still walking out of the gym at 10:00 am and it's 80 degrees outside I want to scream.

So to the October Gods, please hear my pleas.  Let me be cold not hot.
Thank You
Sincerely,
Roasting in Chino

Where does the time go?

The other night Miss Stinkerbell decided she didn't want to sleep.  So she was up @9:30 hanging with me.  And she looked so darn cute with her clean straight hair.  You know, hair that hasn't been touched with sticky fingers, or a lollipop stuck in it.  Just so darn adorable I had to snap a few.

Congrats Mr. G

The other day Mr. G and his gang unit, South Bureau Gangs, were honored with The Meritorious Unit Citation award. This is a HUGE honor. We didn't realize how huge until Mr. G got there on Thursday. I didn't go because we didn't think it was any big deal. Mr. G has received many different commendations over the years he's worn the Badge. But he said there were wives and families there. I feel bad. Chief Bratton and all the top brass there there presiding over the ceremony, and Chief Bratton awarded all the officers. This award hasn't been issued in 5 years. So Mr. G said there were photographers and such there as well. I am so proud of Mr. G and his unit for risking their lives and putting all these bad, scary men and boys in jail. No mistaking, I won't miss another award ceremony again. Here are some pics

Mr. G and his buddies from the unit.  These guys are really great, over the years we have had the chance to go on vacations to the river with all them and their families and had such a great time.

Silly thought

Since I read Cades funny thoughts on Marissas blog, the thought came to me that since this is my journal I too need to right down some of my kids clever sayings before I forget them.  Granted mine arent't as classic as Cade's but they did give me a good chuckle.

So last night we were at Disneyland for some fun and we were on Pirates. Sydney asked me

Syd: Mom, what's a wench?

Me: It's a single lady.

Syd: Pauses for a second, "oh, so Aunt Kelly's a wench...and so are all my aunties"

Me: You bet kiddo.

Second Senario was this summer

Sydney called Nico into the kitchen

Syd: Nico it's 11:11, make a wish.

They had a little discussion among themselves and as Nico turned to run down the hall alone, he mumbles under his breath.....

Nico: I really wish I was a superhero.

It was one of those moments when a mom clutches her chest and wishes they stay that innocent for ever.

Disneyland to the Infinite Amount

We renewed our Disneyland passes a couple weeks ago and have been multiple times since.  It's like opening presents we forgot we had all over again.  We are loving the new Toy Story Mania ride at CA and going  through the Mission Tortilla Factory and Bread Tour.   I had the chance to take Sydney last Friday, just she and I, and we had a great time although four rides broke down while we were waiting.  It was good bonding time. I'm glad to be back.
