Having fun when school is out.

Last week, when we had no school, marissa, Natalie, my mother in law and I took all the kids to Griffith Park to ride the ponies and have a picnic.  We had a fantastic time.  Two of my 3 kids refused to get on the horses, but Sydney loved it.  And I wasn't surprised.   I got some great video of Sydney on the horses.  Pretty funny.    The weather was lovely, and we had a fantastic picnic.  I realized I love a good picnic.
I found Jett & Sophie counting at the tree for a game of hide and seek.  It was adorable.  I had to snap a few.

Sophie on the train ride.  We're in a tunnel and she's trying to look out ahead of us.
I can't not take snaps of him.  He literally makes the perfect faces without knowing it.  He's my little muse.
Sydney was so excited to wear her Dallas Cheerleader Cowboys boots and scarf.  She's so trendy. I can't handle it.
During our picnic
Again.....my little muse.  Little man didn't feel good the whole day so I caught him just sitting in the grass like this.

Stinker Bell had her cowgirl boots on.  Her's were hot pink.

GNO with Miss Diva

Part of our reward system for our kids is to take them out for special one on one dates when they do well in school.  Not for every week spelling tests and things like that, but for big test and projects they get A's on.  So Miss Diva asked if she got an A on her States test if we could go to Disneyland, she and I.  I said, Get the A, We'll go.   Well she did and we went.  We went on all the fun rides, didn't have a stroller with us, so we got to just get on the tram.  We had a great time.  And I realized what fun Sydney can be.  We got hot chocolate, rice krispy treats and cotton candy.  Can you say sugar high?
I just love the Carnation Bakery Canopies, so I snapped them.  They are so inviting.

Thanks Miss Diva for a great night.

My Own Giveaway....

EVERYONE is giving something away..... here is my contribution to the great giveaway.....

Leave me a comment and link and the wonders could be yours.

One black sock with gold toe.... hardly used, like new.
(while doing laundry, I noticed one had been eaten by the dryer monster.  I would hate for the match to go to waste.)

One Granny Smith Perfectly Round apple core.....
Hurry before it turns brown.   You can take the seeds and plant a tree.  Just like Johnny Appleseed did.

One, slightly used, size 34a black bra.
Due to recent developments, of a surgical nature, it no longer covers what is needed.

A  burnt out lightbulb......
who knows.... it could work for you.  You never know.

And last but not least.......an old toilet.
We are about to tear the bathroom apart, but the toilet is the last thing to go before construction begins.  The top is broken off... and water leaks from the bottom.  And if I give it away, maybe Mr. G will buy me a new one.
So leave me those comments ladies.  I know you want my stuff.  I will draw names soon.

Enjoy.

LOTS of Virginia Pics......

This Friday night we went to see the Army Band perform and let me say it was soooo cold.  Luckily the band performed indoors, but since we were in DC we walked over to see the White House Christmas Tree.  And while I was snapping pics my fingers were freezing up.  Good thing Kelly and I got to fight over the gloves Mitch brought.  (sidenote: Mitch is Megans man)  So at least one warm hand was better than no warm hands.  We all ended up at Cheesecake Factory after and ate lots of yummy food.  I had a great time.

Sooo Cold..... Do we look like kept women.
Lauren & her man Jeff
Megan & Mitch
all of us minus Charlotte and Cameron
Lauren and Colonel Sanders, aka:Dad.  My dad has never had this kind of facial hair before.  He attempted a moustache once when the twins were babies.  Um didn't work.  And now this.  He really looks like the Colonel when he wears his bowties on Sunday's.  I do like it though.  Just different is all.
Mama Jill and Olivia, my mom hates to take pics cuz everytime her eyes disappear.  Something this girlie has inherited.
Kisses

Megan and her man.  He wouldn't let me take his pic. So I had to settle for the back.  But I happened to catch a really cute moment between them by the way he looks at her.
Just after the concert.

Bye Bye Surfer Dude, Hello GQ God

We broke down and cut his hair.  It was interfering with his school work.  Darn kid could not figure out how to tuck it behind his ears.  So off it came today.  And he loves it.   What do you think?

What I learned this weekend

* My husband still acts like a 8 year old when with  friends.
* I love the snow and cold weather.
*A sick baby and the snow DO NOT mix.
* I love hot chocolate and yummy panini's.
* I am not good at Scrabble like games. But Mr. G is.
* The snow is really dirty.
* Watching Mr. try and walk through knee high snow with Sophie on his shoulders is freakin Hilarious.
* 2:00 am is way too late to stay up.
* Sydney is at a great age to go and just hang out with friends, like big girls.
* Nico is 5. Dang it.
* I will own a mountain getaway within the next 5 years.
* We need to hang out with the Mercuro's more often. We really love them.
