My Breakfast Guest

(mangos were on the menu)

Here is what my breakfast buddy looked like today. She plays hard and sleeps harder. I couldn't resist how homeless she looked today especially. She cracks me up everyday.

Cute little side note: She knows I have a baby in my tummy and apparently so does Nick. His belly houses a baby Sophie refers to as Tuster. She is very vocal about letting everyone know too. I think she might be a little disappointed when no baby materializes from her dad.

Best $15 I ever spent

Today at IKEA Nick and I decided to pick up this art easel for Miss Sophie. We picked up some supplies with it as well. Chalk, crayons, markers and a bolt of paper. This girl didn't leave it all afternoon. I had debated buying it last week but didn't and had a bit of regret about it. But I was all over it today when Nick was the one to suggest buying it for her. And we are so glad we did. She LOVES it. She is our art lover. She loves to color, make grids on paper with rulers, draw pics. I hope this continues to charge her imagination and keep her busy.

A Few Musings Right Now

I saw this on a few friends blogs and since I clearly don't have anything to blog about, I thought this was a nice change to staring at my previous post.

So Right Now:

I am thinking: I really need to get packing for this Virginia trip, I hope Sophie does well on the plane, I still have to get her a few little goodies for the plane, i loved my lunch date with Jennie b. today, all of a sudden my tummy really seems to be beginning to pop outward.

I am wearing: an orange and white Maxi dress with a white tee., although I'll be changing into warmer clothes to take Syd to soccer.

I am creating: a clean house for my family in my absense, although I always wonder why since I have to come home and re-clean everything. Hubbies just don't do that stuff. I am also making some new softie blankets for Baby Girl Garces which I am very excited about. Nick took me to LA to the fabric district to shop for material last week.

I am going: to soccer later (what else is new) while Nick gets to enjoy some male bonding time at the Laker Game. (um, yeah, I'm jealous)

I am reading: the 8th Women's Murder Club book by James Patterson.

I am hoping: the next 3 months go by really fast so that I don't have to be pregnant anymore and I get to meet this little girl.

I am hearing: my kids ACTUALLY quiet and getting along. It must be a miracle.

Around the house: there is laundry needing to get done, floors to mop, carpet to vacuum, packing to do, and me procrastinating to get it all done. At least I did manage to get my detailed packing list done, so when I do get to that it won't take too long.

One of my favorite things: right now is sleeping, I don't know why but this pregnancy has wiped me out. Feeling baby girl Garces get the hiccups everynight around 10:00pm. A clean house. Well behaved kids and husband for that matter.

there you have it. What is going on Right Now. I am really looking forward to this trip Sophie and I are taking in 2 days. I've made my list of places I want to eat, Pei Wei, Firehouse Subs, Tony's Pizza, Foster's Grille. If it sounds like I've built this trip around food, you would be right. I'm pregnant and who are we kidding I would be eating all this if I wasn't. I might have to hit up these fine establishments twice, we'll see what kind of time I have. I'm happy to have shopping time with my mom and sisters. I'm excited to see Papa Paul, ( as Sophie puts it). I'm excited to laugh till my stomach hurts. Make yummy sweets with my sisters. Take Sophie to see the snow that is still on the ground. She will love it. I will love it.

Totally Slacking

My picture taking has been lacking lately. I don't know if I'm lacking energy, forgetting my camera or a combination of both. Whatever the reason I'm slacking.

But here is a quick recap of the comings and goings of the Garces family.

-I have officially hit the halfway mark of my pregnancy. I am feeling pretty good. The nausea is gone. But I am still just so tired. My thyroid seems to be really tripping me up this time around. This is where my hypothyroidism can be a drag. I still haven't gained any weight, which is a little strange to me. But I'm not complaining. If I can keep it to about 15 - 20 pounds like with Nico that would be fantastic.

-Soccer is in full swing. But isn't it always. It's year round at our house.

-Baseball starts soon. Just adding more sports to our already hectic sports schedule.

-Sophie is still Sophie. Stinker to the end.

Life is crazy and fun.

Thinking Pink

We are thinking pink at our house. The big ultrasound was today and confirmed that a baby GIRL was on her way. Poor Nico lost it, the little guy really wanted a brother bad. And to be honest I shed a few tears myself. I was dreaming of holding a little guy close to my face again. I know I will love this little girl just as much, I just need to adjust my thinking. I don't have to put away all my ruffles and bows. I do love pink.

I wonder who she'll look like, a Trost like Sydney or a Garces like Sophie? We shall see.

Cute Conversation

When my sister was here she came with me to my doctor's appt. in which the doctor gave me some pics of the baby. When we got home we showed the pics to Sophie in which she responded:

Sophie: Mommy, it naked.

Me: What do you think the baby should wear?

Sophie: Some of me dresses, and me crocs.

Me: How do I get the baby dressed?

Sophie: Down by you boobs!!!

No joke, that was the coversation.

She was dead serious too, which maybe was the cutest part.

Surprise Visits....

I usually feed my brother Cameron every Sunday. He lives in Huntington Beach and needs at least 1 home cooked meal a week so he heads our to our house. This last Sunday he brought a surprise with him. He came in the house and about 1 minute later the doorbell rang. Who comes over at 6:00pm on a Sunday? Nick answered the door and my sister Kelly was standing there. What? She came and surprised me for a few days. I was floored. I started bawling, hugged my sister and couldn't wait to spend the next couple days together.

Monday brought the visit of my Grandpa Welsh from Washington St. Cameron came back out to see him. We visited with him and his wife Carole for a few hours. It was heavenly. I was so happy to be spending that time with my family.

Please note my growing belly and fat face. Interestingly, I've lost not gained weight.

After they left, Kelly, Sophie, Mr. G and I headed to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. And we made a later trip to Costco and Jack in the Box. No Jack in VA. So my family craves it's tacos. Tuesday we went to a Baby Doctor Appt. and got my doctor's advice on what the baby is based on the Ultra Sound she did. (but I want to wait to announce anything until my official Ultrasound in 2 weeks) We shopped at The Shoppes at Chino Hills, ate some See's Candy and finished off the night with Yougurtland and Pei Wei. And of course Kelly and I stayed up late laughing over yearbooks and my scrapbooks.

She left early this morning and my heart is broken. I love their visits and my heart breaks when they leave. But I blame it this time on the baby and my hormones.

Can't wait for another visiter.
