Celebrating Sydney

Sydney turns 7 on Thanksgiving and I can't believe where the time went. Anyway she is having a slumber party the week after and this is her cute invite she gave out. I was pretty proud that I came up with this on short notice. I was just going to buy some and she told me she wanted me to make them instead. So here we go.

I am anxious to have 15 seven year olds running crazy around my house. It should be a large adventure.

My second Sydney project is a quilt I'm making her for Christmas. Her bedroom is Tinkerbell Green, pink and white. So I pulled those colors for her quilt. I baby pink in the back is the Chenille i'm backing it in and the print with the darker pinks at the bottom is for a couple pillows.

I seems like about once a year the get the urge to sew something. Last year when i was in Virginia I had the urge to make church dresses for Sydney before Sophie was born. I pulled out
three. And I have the urge again. So Syd gets a new quilt. I've never pieced together a quilt like this, so wish me luck. It can't be that hard. I'll post pics of the finished project.

My Kiddos

So here are some of the latest pics of my kiddos. I wish I could have posted all of them because I loved them so much but I didn't want to bore you. I wish I could take really amazing pictures. Like a professional. Maybe I should take a class or something.

Gym Report

So it's been a little over two months since I started with my personal trainer and I thought I should post some of my results. I am at the gym 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, twice a week with my trainer and working my behind off and am finally starting to see results. My total body fat has dropped a whole percent from 22% to 21%. I have been told by Octavio (my trainer) that 22 % is good for a woman and that I've lost 1% is great. I have lost inches all over my body, waist, arms, thighs, the list goes on. The most important I have lost some of my stomach, my biggest trouble spot. Last week I was able to fit into a size 6. That's a huge deal to me. I still have a long way to go but I'm getting there the healthy way. Protein shakes, fish, veggies and chicken. The diet can get a little boring at times when my kids are eating yummy mac & cheese and i'm chowing on brown rice and bland chicken but worth it. I am happy to be healthy and on the right track. We are going to Hawaii in March and I would love to be bikini ready even though I won't be wearing one. I have failed to take pictures along the way Sorry. But I fully intend to take one at the end.

Disneyland Repeat

So today I followed Laura's example and took my kids to Disneyland again. Since the day was gloomy and cold I had hoped the park would be empty, and it was. We headed over to California Adventure, jumped on the Monsters Inc. ride and caught the HSM 2 show. Then headed to Disneyland, and went straight to Nemo. We waited about 30 minutes. But considering that line has been like 3 hours for the last few months I had no problem waiting. But I don't think I'll ever go back on it. First of all if you are the least bit clausterphobic this ride is not for you. Me and my kids were squished between two very overweight people which would be fine if we weren't sitting on top of each other. Sophie started screaming in this tiny little space. Nico is sitting on Sydney's lap and she is getting irritated with him because he won't sit still. And it was boring. So probably not again.

We still had a great time and we took Sophie on Dumbo for the first time. I forgot my camera so no pics. Sorry.

Unexpected Visitor

I just got the word today that my sister Lauren is coming out for Thanksgiving. She is staying for about 6 days. And I can't wait. I'm not telling Sydney because Lauren flies in on Thanksgiving morning and Sydney's birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year so it will be her birthday surprise. I haven't had a visitor in a while and I miss my family on the other side of the country.

Book Store Fun

My mom sent my kids a gift card to Barnes & Noble for Halloween and yesterday I took them over to pick out their books and here are some cute pics of our adventure there.

Sophie was happy as long as she had her binkie and her baby.
Sydney couldn't make up her mind, she ended up choosing different books than she's holding.
This was the only picture I got of Sophie not eating the books. She has magic teeth. She can tear apart a book in a matter of seconds.
Nico was so sad that we couldn't find any Transformers books. He kept pouting. We eventually found a Transformers sticker book. Yeah!
My cute little darlings.
Love them.

See Ya Red Truck

We finally sold our third car. Yeah! We have had this truck since 2000 when we bought it new. It has served it purpose for us. It was a great car to have. We used that car for everything, trips, towing, lugging plants and dirt to the dump, DJing. While I am sad to see the memories go, I so excited because now we can concrete our new patio. We were selling the car to pay for our new patio and now no more dirt, dust, my dog living in nothing. I'll post pics of our yard transformation in the coming weeks. We want to finish by our Christmas party in December.
